Iligan Bloggers Society was up for a treat. Last August 8, 2017 IBS members went out for a day of relaxation and spa treatment in one of the newly opened lounge in the City, PHILOCALY BEAUTY LOUNGE. Just by the name itself, you know you are in good hands. There were 8 of us in that afternoon and I was there to try their AIRBRUSH FULL MAKE-UP with Nimmy Garcia. 

I have known Nimmy since our teenage years and I know by heart that she is passionate, very passionate I should say, in the field of beauty. When I arrived, I was really impressed with the lounge. It feels classy and luxurious. It definitely smells good, in fact, I asked for the name of the scent hehe so I can probably search for it in one of the stores and I can probably use it at home hehe.

The place is so chic, homey and smells clean too. The staff are in uniform. I am so impressed with their sterilizer for the nail care tools, the enhance clinic for the microblading services and the beautiful VIP room. I can see my parents relax in that side of the lounge.

Their passion for beauty started way back in 2010. Always in the same travel group with family, our trip itineraries often included spa visits and make-up shopping.They strongly felt the lack of salons that offered basic service in a more relaxed setting and on a professional level in Iligan City.

Being both passionate in the field of beauty they decided to merge their concepts and produce what PHILOCALY is today. A beauty spa retreat place for the entire family (men, women, and children), where one can get pampered & feel relaxed, all while getting excellent service from well-trained & skilled professionals.


“Welcome to the Lounge” is their favorite opening statement. Each guest deserves the VIP treatment. Being frustrated interior designers, Nimmy and Jom combined their own personal styles to create a lounge that felt homey and classy. Exactly the same kind of facility they envisioned themselves going to regularly. They want their guests to feel like they are stepping into a good friend’s beautiful home. They’ve also toned down the colors to muted earth tones so that they can be gender friendly.


In the lounge they have their enhance clinic for microblading, waxing, & body paraffin services, their make-up studio for make-up related and private functions, their VIP room for guest privacy and back massages, their nail lounge for nail care & nail art, and of course their reception lobby where they sell over the counter products so that guests can have access to their wonderful in-store spa lotions and nail treatments.

COFFEE (OR TEA) and lite snacks

Each guest receives a complimentary drink to go with his/her service. Robes and slippers are offered to make their pampering experience as relaxed as possible. Eye masks are available should the guest want to take a quick nap while having his/her service done. Also gratuity (tips) is not required but very much appreciated. We provide tip envelopes at the payment counter should the guest feel like giving a small amount back to his/her beauty technician if they enjoyed the treatment.


Many people nowadays always splurge on things that later go to waste. But when it comes to their own skin & bodies, they always spend on cheap products without considering if it is toxic, unsafe, and un-sanitized.

Philocaly only chooses products that are good/safe for human consumption. They carry world-renowned brands such as CND, Clean+Easy, and PhiBrows. These brands are not only known for their superior quality, but also for their durability and their contribution to lessen toxic intake.


They are very meticulous when it comes to sanitation.
• All of their tools are washed and loaded into our sterilizer at least 15 minutes before handling each client.
• Nail & beauty technicians are required to have neat and clean nails, and to wash and apply hand sanitizers on their hands before they start each individual treatment.
• They have a foot wash station to pre-wash the guest’s feet prior to soaking.
• For paraffin, they don’t allow dipping of the hands and feet into the digital machine, rather, they scoop out the wax in plastic sleeves to avoid contaminating the wax with bacteria and dead skin cells.
• For microblading, they only make use of sterile and disposable blades that are thrown away after each use.
• It is also important to note that all their towels are color-coded. White is for facial use, brown for hand use, and dark orange for foot use. They are also laundered separately per color.

They go the extra mile when it comes to hygiene and safety because they genuinely care for the health and well being of each of their guests, and by doing so they eliminate the threat of contamination.


They heavily invested in the training of their staff. Product and service educators were flown in to Iligan to conduct the proper training and issue the needed certification for their nail & beauty technicians to perform the treatments properly & professionally. Their girls also know that the owners want them not only to learn, but also to grow and expand their knowledge on their individual jobs. More than just a job, it is a career and a profession, and they want them to be able to also adjust and change when they innovate.


The services are categorized into two lines: PAMPER and ENHANCE. They already launched Pamper, and will soon re-launch Enhance when they complete our service offering for this line.

PHILOCALY PAMPER covers nail care, massages, paraffin therapy, and waxing services.

PHILOCALY ENHANCE covers microblading, make-up, brows & lash services.
