Delecta's Baby Back Ribs

Delecta’s Baby Back Ribs

Delecta is a home grown Iliganon family owned restaurant in Iligan City. Recently they took the risk and opened a branch at Centrio Ayala Mall Cagayan de Oro City.. They are well known with their version of Baby Back Ribs. It’s a pork dish that’s well loved by the Iliganons and it’s visitors.  The serving is a bit smaller than the usual Casa Verde pieces in Cebu, but tastes almost the same. Read more

BBQ Inn Iligan

My All time favorite… since childhood

You probably can’t say that you have been to Iligan City, unless you get a taste of Iligan’s Lechon, Iligan’s Timoga Swimming Pool, Tinago Falls, Ma. Christina and a good barbecue meal at BBQ Inn. Ever since I was a child, it’s always a good family outing when our parents would bring us to BBQ Inn. I consider it as one of the luxurious meals I ever had. The barbecue seemed so unlimited, that I just can’t get enough.

Located in one of the humble old buildings of Iligan City just beside the Iligan City Rizal Park. The place looks entirely the same, preserved as what they say. Remained humble and appetizing just like how the taste and size of their barbecue. For many years, the aroma and taste remained the same.

As of this writing the barbecue costs only Php 10.00 per piece, with a choice of with fats or not. We usually call it “with tambok” or without (hehehe). But Iliganon’s like me just love having that fatty portion on stick. hmmm I don’t know why?,it’s just that it taste differently when it’s there. Hehehe…

The barbecue is somewhat sweet and a bit spicy yet very much tolerable. The meat is chewy and tender. And the smell… yes the smell… so barbecueeeee.. (ahahaha) Hmmm very delicious, what can I say? It’s my favorite.

So the next time you visit Iligan City, hunt for  BBQ Inn and dine. And you’ll know why I call it, Iligan’s best. Hmmm you can also call me up, hahahaha I never say no for Barbecue! lels…Of course.. your treat! :P

Andok’s Pork Sinigang

I was in Bohol last month to attend an the 19th SFC International Conference and stayed there for another 4 days just for a time alone and to explore Tagbilaran City. One of my frequent go to place for food is Andok’s. Even during my previous trips in Bohol, Andok’s has been my sort of “best friend”.

I can’t go adventurous on food when I’m alone simply because I have a very sensitive stomach. Even if I wanted to try the street foods there, I just can’t when I’m alone. hehe…

So in one of my dines during my alone time, I got this Pork Sinigang in their menu. Just trying this one out since I feel like  I already had too much carcinogens with grilled meat everyday. Yes, I love grilled food so much, but this time I had to try something else.

So this is how the Pork Sinigang looks like. It’s good for one person, but for me I think the serving is good for 2 people. There were numerous slizes of pork meat which is good and a handful of vegetables. I just find the soup too sticky though, probably because of okra and the radish. The taste? hmmm.. of course.. Sinigang! hehheeh *burp* The meat were tender and the vegetables were well done.

Bon apettit!

Giving Delecta Diner & Cafe A Second Chance

It has been written or should I say I wrote a blog before how Delecta failed me one time. And I said I might not be recommending or should I say I might not dine in Delecta once again.

I have a feeling that I won’t be going back to the place , oh well that’s  what you call experience. The pics were taken after the whole misfortune so you couldn’t see any yummy treats at all. I don’t intend to downplay them, I wish for them to improve. And I believe I have the freedom to express what I feel… ’til the next chow!:D - from the previous post.

So after a year, I had to go back to the place. I had to since the monthly board meeting was scheduled there. True, I seemed to not have a choice. So when I arrived I was really praying for a better service, and thank God, I did. Read more

Calda Pizza: Chicken Pizza Roll with Jalapeño and White Mushroom Sauce

I had great time trying out the new flavors of Calda Pizza, their Pizza Roll. It comes in 2 flavors; chicken for the non-pork eaters and pork flavor. I tried the 2 flavors and the chicken flavor really made a mark on me.

Single Served Pizza Roll (Photo by Traveljams)

That spicy and kicking taste of Jalapeño and white mushroom sauce really made my day. It’s so creamy and tasty at the same time.

Large Size Pizza Roll Photo by; TravelJams

It comes in 2 sizes, the single served size and the large size. The single served size can actually be enjoyed by two people, great for dating lovers or getting to know dates with a friend. The large size can feed 4 to 5 not so hungry people, but for starving ones i think it’s only good for 2 to 3 people hehe. Great for moderate to heavy snacks or could be  one great full meal.
